![🔎 ONGOING INVESTIGATION: RECORDS MUST MATCH REALITY
In 2019, O’Connell manager Eric Schaff signed a letter stating that O’Connell did not use products containing glyphosate at CUSD facilities or parks shared with LARMAC.
Seven years later, Schaff remains an O’Connell manager serving our community and is responding to Ladera Goes Organic’s concerns regarding notice for the August 26 Specticle G application in Covenant Hills.
On August 28, Schaff stated:
“There were 3 signs posted 24 hours prior and 48 hours after the application. The notice, Map, Label and SDS are all available on Ladera Life and posted at the Avendale Club.”
However, during my onsite investigation of the Specticle G application on August 26, we observed no such notices at the treatment location.
These conflicting accounts are exactly why verbal and written assurances are not enough. Records must be independently reviewed and compared with time-stamped photographs, application logs, posting locations and firsthand observations.
LGO has repeatedly requested records to verify what was applied, where it was applied and how residents were notified. LARMAC responded:
“All other requests fall outside the scope of Civ. Code 5200 et seq.”
Just last week, residents also documented employees spraying an unidentified product near several young children riding their bikes. The employees appeared to be wearing PPE, while nearby residents had not been told what was being applied.
During September 2026, “Associated Pest Management - APM” lists several treatment dates. Products listed include Stryker 54, Temprid FX Insecticide, and Fumitoxin.
A September 10 LaderaLife announcement states: “The Board directed Management to evaluate existing rodenticide and insecticide practices to identify opportunities to further reduce routine pesticide use.”
Let’s be clear: an evaluation is not a pause. Unless LARMAC explicitly suspends these applications, pesticide use may continue while the evaluation is underway.

![🚨 STRYKER 54: SEPTEMBER 2026 POOLS & CLUBHOUSES TREATMENT NOTICE (OF INTENT)
A September 2026 treatment notification for Ladera Ranch pools and clubhouses lists Stryker 54 among six pesticide and rodenticide products that may be used on an “as-needed” basis.
Although no “X” appears beside Stryker 54, Ladera Goes Organic verified with LARMAC that technicians are still scheduled to visit the listed locations and may use their discretion to determine whether treatment is needed. This means a technician may arrive prepared to apply a listed product if site conditions warrant treatment.
No arrival time, treatment window or advance confirmation of which product may be used is provided.
According to the Stryker 54 SDS:
• Active ingredients: pyrethrins 0.5% and piperonyl butoxide 4%
• Aerosol contact insecticide
• SDS signal word: DANGER
• Extremely flammable
• May be FATAL if swallowed and enters the airways
• Causes serious eye irritation
• Harmful if inhaled
• May cause drowsiness or dizziness
WHY CLEAR NOTICE MATTERS:
A similar notice listed Wagsdale Park for service on September 1. A service truck carrying treatment equipment was observed onsite, but no advance treatment signs were visible. LARMAC later confirmed that Wagsdale was not treated.
The truck’s presence does not establish that chemicals were applied. However, LARMAC explained that under this “as-needed” process, a technician may decide whether to treat after arriving and assessing the location.
Ladera Goes Organic plans to visit the next scheduled service locations to observe conditions, determine which products, if any, are used and check whether notices are properly posted.

In 2026, Jenny is taking her commitment to community service one step further by seeking a seat on the Ladera Ranch Maintenance Corporation (LARMAC) Board of Directors.
Jenny believes effective community leadership begins with listening. Her approach is grounded in servant leadership, integrity, transparency, collaboration, and responsible stewardship. If elected, she hopes to help strengthen communication between LARMAC and residents, encourage meaningful community engagement, support thoughtful and responsible governance, and help protect the character, amenities, and quality of life that make Ladera Ranch such a special place to live.

In its first three weeks, the account generated nearly 90,000 views, reached more than 8,500 unique viewers, gained 704 net followers, and generated 4,489 interactions. With 54% of views coming from people who do not yet follow the account, its reach is continuing to expand beyond its existing audience. This platform gives my campaign a direct, organic channel to educate residents, communicate priorities, amplify local issues, encourage civic engagement, and build an ongoing conversation with the Ladera Ranch community.

Our advocacy gear program transforms community support into visible grassroots engagement. Lawn signs, shirts, and other campaign materials are fully sponsored by local businesses, creating a cost-effective way to increase visibility while strengthening relationships with the local business community.
